SERVICO GIN
THE RESULTS

Servico Gin in Courtland, Alabama runs 3 Continental 141's converted to Power Roll Gin Stands. Testing during the 2002 season showed an average increase in turnout of 31 pounds per bale and 496 pounds per module as well as improvements in fiber quality. Here is what James Askew, Manager of Ginning Operations, had to say.

"We had already seen the positive impact that PRT gin stands can have on turnout and quality. What we didn't know for sure was what kind of impact this technology would have on gin production rates. So far this season, we've seen our average daily ginning volumes increase by 50-70 bales per day. 750-800 bales per day is becoming an expectation, not an exception. These stands are fairly simple from a mechanical standpoint. Once they get 'slicked' up, they just run."
